Slovenian native Doncic proposed to his girlfriend at Lake Bled, and he shared the happy news with his 8.3 million Instagram followers in a joint post with Goltes. He kept his caption brief and sweet, penning only “7.7” to represent the day’s date and adding a heart and ring emojis.

The couple met as children and began dating as teenagers. Goltes was photographed with her fiancé in 2017, according to Instagram posts. LeBron James, who commented, “Congrats brother!” was among the NBA community’s many well wishes for the Mavericks player.

Anamaria Goltes is Slovenian like Doncic and hails from the central city of Zagorje ob Savi. She has been dating Doncic since 2016 and has followed him both in the NBA, where he has played for the Mavs since being taken with the third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draught, and with Real Madrid.
