A viral video had appeared online, purporting to capture what is believed to be the last-seen footage of OceanGate Expeditions’ Titan submersible before it vanished on Sunday, June 18. The footage was uploaded to TikTok by videographer Abbi Jackson, who captured it from the Polar Prince, the submersible’s mothership. Earlier in June, she allegedly captured French diver Paul Henri Nargeolet, one of the five passengers aboard the missing submersible. Continue reading.

The Titan submersible was on its way to the Titanic debris site and purportedly left St John’s, Newfoundland, on Saturday, June 17, before vanishing at 4 a.m. the next day, an hour and 45 minutes into the two-hour plunge. Rescuers are presently racing against the clock as the deep-sea vessel’s oxygen supply runs out. On Monday, June 19, US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John W Mauger stated that “there is somewhere between 70 and the full 96 hours available at this point” in the submersible.

On Sunday, June 18, Jackson, a 22-year-old Canadian videographer, was working on OceanGate Expeditions’ Titan submersible’s mothership Polar Prince before the deep vessel’s disappearance. She is said to have captured the supposed last-seen footage of the now-disappeared vessel. The videographer was apparently tasked with documenting the cutting-edge technology before the vessel set out to visit the Titanic debris.

Abbi Jackson published the video on her TikTok account, and it quickly went viral when the submersible vanished. In the footage, Jackson is seen pulling out her phone and zooming it to film the Titan’s drop. While capturing the video, the videographer smiled, allowing spectators to see the 22-foot OceanGate submersible in the backdrop. Jackson’s clip was captioned, “Watching a submarine go down to the Titanic.”

Earlier in June, Jackson recorded Nargeolet, 77, and released a TikTok showing him floating on a lifeboat. Jackson referred to Nargeolet as a “legend” and said Nargeolet had seen the Titanic 37 times. The French diver has been called “Mr. Titanic” since he led the first trip to the Titanic disaster site in 1987 and is said to have visited the site 35 times.

Latest Update In The Search Operation

Titanic Submarine Missing

The United States, Canada, and France are conducting a large search and rescue mission to locate the missing Titan submersible. Rescuers are racing against the clock as the submersible’s emergency oxygen runs out in four hours. Despite tough circumstances such as hard weather, undersea valleys, mountains, and a search area twice the size of Connecticut, a Canadian P-3 aircraft detected strong “banging” noises observed by rescuers beneath the ocean’s surface.

According to a US Coast Guard officer, it was “unclear” if the noises indicated a “true signal of life.” According to sonar specialist Jeff Karson, professor emeritus of earth and environmental sciences at Syracuse University, the loud sounds might be coming from the debris at the 12,500-foot-deep Titanic tragedy site. He believes the noises are bouncing around the wreckage, resulting in a more intricate echo.
