Geroge Wade, the ex-lover of Empress Njamah, a Nollywood celebrity, has been detained in Liberia. The actress revealed this on Monday through her Instagram stories when she posted a clip of Wade being escorted in handcuffs. After their relationship ended, Empress accused Wade of domestic assault and threats.
Last December, during a live stream on her business page, the actress claimed that the engagement video she put on her personal page earlier that month was done under coercion. She also revealed that Wade had duped, assaulted, and held her captive before her final escape.
Wade went on threatening the actress even after she had fled. He eventually exposed her nude photos and videos through a WhatsApp group chat. He subsequently added blogs and persons to the group.
She said:
“He wrecked me, finished everything. This person I’m telling you actually got a ring and forced me to do a video, which he posted on my page because he has access to my page. He changed all the passwords, logged me out of every email I have, everything I have, all my phones, my iCloud, everything, I don’t have access to anything, I don’t mind.
“I’m alive to tell you the story, I was able to run that night, I ran into the street, not minding who or how, I fell into a gutter. I was able to see a mallam to ask for a phone. I called my brother and he picked me from the hospital, and the following morning, took me home.”
This blatant invasion of her privacy compounded the grief and trauma that Njamah had already suffered at the hands of Wade. The Actors’ Guild of Nigeria issued a statement demanding Wade’s arrest. Many celebs are presently congratulating the actress while harshly condemning Wade’s conduct.
