On Tuesday, visitors to Ranthambore witnessed a unique and dramatic wildlife show as the well-known tigress Riddhi (T-124) and her cub Meera fought over territory in Zone 3 of the reserve. On a jungle safari, it is uncommon to witness tigers’ interactions of this nature.
Tourists saw the mother and daughter tigresses close to one another during a morning safari. In an effort to assert her dominion, Meera soon challenged Riddhi. This challenge quickly escalated into a violent altercation. The sounds of the two tigresses’ thunderous roars reverberated throughout the jungle. The battle was brief but fierce, and Riddhi prevailed. After being defeated, Meera fled back into the woods.

Witnesses said that during the morning safari, the two tigresses were initially seen near one another when Meera challenged Riddhi in an effort to assert her dominance. Things swiftly became tense.

Tigress Riddhi, who had been an adventurer since she was a young cub, once dared to confront her mother, Tigress Arrowhead, about territory.
