The former pace-bowler Venkatesh Prasad slams KL Rahul for his repetitive failure. Team India has started the four-test Border Gavaskar trophy series with a mammoth win by an inning and 132 runs. Aussies were unable to handle Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja’s spin in Nagpur. After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first in Nagpur and gets bowled out at 177 runs in the first innings. In reply, Team India scored 400 runs in its first innings, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s captaincy knock of 120 runs and Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel’s half-centuries. In the second innings, Australia bowled out at 91 in merely a session.
However, even in the victory of Team India, there are things that the Indian team has to look for. The selectors have assigned KL Rahul as vice-captain of this series even after his disastrous form. KL Rahul is consistently inconsistent and once again failed to score big. He got out at just 20 runs. Venkatesh Prasad slams KL Rahul for his poor form.

In a five-tweet-long attack, Venkatesh Prasad questioned selectors on KL Rahul’s inclusion in the team. He wrote,
“I have a lot of regard for KL Rahul’s talent and ability, but sadly his performances have been well below par. A test average of 34 after 46 tests and more than 8 years in international cricket is ordinary. Can’t think of many who have been given so many chances. Especially..cont”

Venkatesh Prasad continued,
“When there are so many waiting in the wings & in top form. Shubhman Gill is in sublime form,Sarfaraz has been scoring tons in FC cricket and many who deserve a chance ahead of Rahul. Some are just lucky to be given chances endlessly till they succeed while some aren’t allowed to.”

KL Rahul has been out of form for a long and there are many better players knocking on the door. Shubman Gill, who is in the form of his life, is on the bench because of KL Rahul.
