IPL Auction 2021 will take place in Chennai on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 3 PM. There are 1114 players who registered for the auctions. BCCI shortlists 292 players for the IPL auctions.  A total of 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players, and 3 players from Associate Nations are shortlisted. They will be up for grabs as the eight franchises Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Rajasthan Royals (RR) look to strengthen their squads.

A maximum of 61 players can be bought by eight franchise that includes 22 overseas players if all the teams manage to reach their squad size limit of 25. A team can have a maximum of 17 Indian players and 8 overseas players and for IPL 2021. Looking at these numbers shows how tough and strong to be in a team of IPL. The competition is tough and that is the reason why the Indian Premier League is one of the biggest cricketing leagues in the world.

The IPL Auction 2021 is a mini-auction and most teams are already settled with their core group. However, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore has released the maximum number of players and has a bigger purse in the auction.
