Akash Jain, the marketing professional and Entrepreneur from Bangalore tweeted out his sister Pratiksha's wedding card and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to it.
From that time onwards, he hasn't stopped checking his Twitter account.
Can you guess what might happen?
Modi, who follows hardly 1,700 people across the world, followed Akash and retweeted on his post.
"Best day of my life. PM Modi follows 1700 people on twitter and now I am one of them. I checked my notifications over and over again just to be sure that it wasn't fake. And it's all thanks to my dad's obsession with Swachh Bharat,” he said.
What's exactly there on wedding card that made Modi to follow this guy?
Akash's father Kantilal Jain who is often called the Modi of Mysore because of his uncanny resemblance with PM Modi insisted to keep the symbol of PM Modi's pet project Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the wedding card.
"Why should we put the full responsibility of cleaning up India only on the PM? I have sent 3000 wedding cards. The Swacch Bharat logo will remind people that they have a duty to do as well,” Kantilal Jain said.
Kantilal Jain didn’t stop with just logo. He told caterer to provide dustbins at every corner of the venue and there are strict instructions to reduce the use of plastic in Pratiksha's wedding which is slated for the 29th of this month.
Before shifting to Karnataka, the Jains lived in Gujrat for 8 years. Modiji’s Beti Padao, Beti Bachao Andolan inspired the business family to educate their daughters instead of getting them married off at the first opportunity.
Pratiksha now works for Infosys whereas her younger sister Apeksha is with KPMG. Pratiksha's wedding card has been viewed 10 lakh times after PM Modi re-tweeted it.
Akash has sent a personal invite to the PM as well but expecting him to come will be “asking for too much,” he says.
A little appreciation gives much motivation to do anything further. If that comes from Prime Minister of India, it encourages many other people to follow the same. Isn’t it?
