It created a lot of stir and many famous sportsmen and celebrities also voiced in their opinions in support of Sunil Chhetri. And Sunil Chhetri’s plea actually worked out because the Intercontinental Cup match between India and Kenya at the Mumbai Football Arena was sold out! India Vs Kenya – The Intercontinental Cup

The Indian Football Captain is actually third on the list of highest active goal-scorers in International football with 59 goals. He comes after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. This match was Sunil Chhetri’s 100th and he scored his 60th goal in the match.

It was an easy win for India as they outclassed Kenya easily with 3-0. Sunil Chhetri scored two goals and Jeje scored one.

 

We promise you that if that’s the kind of support we get every time we play for the country, we will give our lives on the pitch. India, this night was special because we were in this together. Those in the stands shouting, and the ones at home cheering – thank you!
