Art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai dies by suicide at the age of 57. The director was found dead in his studio at Karjat, Maharashtra. Who Was Nitin Chandrakant Desai?
Nitin Chandrakant Desai was a well-known art director. He was found dead at ND studios in Karjat on 2 August 2023. His career spanned two decades; he was associated with hits like Lagaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Saman, Devdas, and Munnabhai MBBS. Moreover, critics and the audience widely recognized and appreciated his work. Desai has also won four national awards for his work. This left the entire news in shock; many people expressed their condolences and paid their tributes to him.
Cops have further confirmed that workers at the studio found the director’s body. Raigad SP stated,
“We found the body of art director Nitin Desai hanging in his studio in Karjat. Police were informed about this by a worker on the set. When the police team reached the studio we saw his body hanging. We are investigating the case further for ascertaining all the aspects in this case.”
Why Did Nitin Desai Kill Himself?
According to PTI reports, Desai has missed payments on Rs. 252 crore debt to his company’s financial creditor. Further, a bankruptcy court accepted an insolvency suit against his business last week. Desai’s business, ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd, borrowed Rs. 185 crores from ECL Financial Through two loans in 2016 and 2018, and repayment issues began in January 2020.
Several personalities, such as the BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde, showed their gratitude and condolences. Actor Ritesh Deshmukh also paid his condolences via his social media handles. Further, his contributions will be remembered and cherished for years to come.
