In Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International stadium, the Match 54 of IPL 2018 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. Last time when the teams collided, SRH ended up victoriously while rain played a major role. This time KKR got their revenge as they mopped SRH by 5 wickets.

SRH won the toss and they decided to bat first. The openers took the team to a flying start. Shikhar Dhawan and Shreevats Goswami added up 60 runs in the powerplay overs.

The opening partnership was broken by Kuldeep Yadav in the ninth over. The score of SRH was 79/1 then. After that Kane Williamson replaced Goswami and he builds up a healthy partnership with Shikhar Dhawan.  Dhawan was dismissed in the sixteenth over and the score of SRH was 141/3 back then. Dhawan scored 50 runs in 39 balls including 5 fours and 1 six.

In the final overs, Manish Pandey played a couple of good shots but SRH could not get the best out of the death overs. On the other hand, KKR bowlers made the late comeback and struck wickets after wickets. Till the end of 20 overs, the score of SRH was 172/9. Prasidh Krishna’s amazing bowling kept SRH at the bay. He took 4 wickets giving in just 30 runs in 4 overs.

Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine opened KKR’s batting and no doubt they had a huge total to chase. The openers took the charge and started playing big shots. Narine was dismissed early but that did not affect the scoreboard. To conclude, KKR knocked off 66 runs with a loss of one wicket in the powerplay overs

After the powerplay overs, Lynn and Uthappa continued devastating the SRH bowlers. Lynn completed his half-century but he got dismissed immediately after that. He scored 55 in 43 balls including 4 fours and 3 sixes. After the end of 15 overs. KKR was on 132 runs. They required just 41 runs in the 30 balls and they had 8 wickets in hand.

After that, Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik took the charge. Uthappa was dismissed. However, Dinesh Karthik led the team to victory by 5 wickets in the final over.
