Kolkata started off with 2 spinners but were taken to the fence by Shaw and Munro. Mavi got the wicket of Colin Munro to get KKR back in the game but it wasn’t Kolkata Knight Riders’ day as they bowled all over the pitch. They weren’t able to bowl economically nor get wickets. KKR will be hoping their batsmen save their blushes as the bowlers leaked 219 in 20 overs. Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla and Mavi got a wicket each.

220 was going to take some chasing and KKR needed their openers to get them off to a good start. But Maxwell sent Lynn to the dugout in the second over. It was Robin Uthappa next who succumbed to the pressure and handed his wicket to Trent Boult. Sunil Narine, having hit a couple of big blows was back in the pavilion as well. Sunil Narine scored 26 in just 9 balls. KKR lost wickets at regular intervals with no batsmen settling in. The target being too big and losing wickets didn’t help KKR’s case as they lost their 4th match of the season.

Delhi Daredevils’ for the first time were in the driving seat. Having set a huge target for the away team, DD started well as they got 4 wickets inside the first 5 overs.
