Israel’s Defense Minister Claims ‘Significant Breakthrough’ In Developing Antibody Against Covid-19

More than 2,50,000 people have lost their lives because of this COVID-19 to date. The entire world is working to prepare a vaccine for novel coronavirus. But now it seems like we have the antibody against COVID-19. Israel is famous for its technology has claimed that it has prepared a vaccine for coronavirus. Israel puts 3.5% of its GDP on their researches and innovations. The claim has been made by the Defense Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett. According to him, the scientists of the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) have succeeded in preparing the vaccine. It will prove to be a milestone in the fight against this coronavirus pandemic.

On Monday, Naftali Bennett visited the labs of Israel’s Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) that is supervised by the Prime Minister’s office. Naftali Bennett said that he witnessed a ‘significant breakthrough’ in developing an antibody to coronavirus. This antibody attacks the virus in a monoclonal manner and is capable of killing it inside the body. He claims the antibody neutralizes the virus in the body stops it from spreading to other parts of the body and to other people.

The researchers wrapped up the development phase. The lab has now started the process of patenting this vaccine. After this, it will be made on a large scale, so that people from all over the world can benefit from it. The researchers will then approach international companies to produce the antibody on a commercial scale.

Naftali Bennett said,

“I am proud of the institute staff for this terrific breakthrough. Their creativity and the Jewish mind brought about this amazing achievement.”

However, he did not say whether the vaccine trial had been conducted on humans.

Israel has sealed its borders in the early days to deal with coronavirus. There were also strict restrictions that were imposed in the country. Currently, Israel has more than 16,000 people suffering from coronavirus and has 237 casualties to date.

Coronavirus has already taken the lives of more than 2,53,000 people all over the world and the numbers are increasing daily. Let us hope and wish that this vaccine works and the world gets rid of this coronavirus as quickly as possible.
