This Is How Indians React To Depression. Watch The Video

Depression

Well, every one of us feels depression at some point of time. But some people feel it every day.

Do you know, more than 300 million people are now living with depression, according to latest World Health Organization’s (WHO) estimation.

India is one of the most depressed countries in the world. We talk about typhoid, fever but we refuse to talk about depression. In most of the families, everyone cares if you have fever but they don’t mind if you are depressed.

Depression is also like any other disease and should be taken care.

The death of 24-year-old Arjun Bhardwaj, an engineering student on April 4 who committed suicide by jumping off the 19th floor of the Taj Land's End Hotel in Mumbai sparked much attention about mental health.

Indian stand-up comedy group All India Bakchod came up with a video offering advice to anyone suffering from it in a funny tone.

Watch the video, “what would happen if people treated other illnesses the way they treat depression”

AIB’s video attracted many mental health professionals who commented saying that they found the video an effective way to normalize mental health:

Share openly with your trusted friends who understand you better. If you don’t have one, then share with the family members. If they also not supportive to you then reach out for professional help. If you hesitate to talk, you can chat with them by being anonymous. Take proper counseling, read books, try meditation videos.

It’s time to take action against this depression. Don’t care about what people will say. When someone wants to talk to you then pay attention to them. Listen to them and give your moral support. If it is damn serious, reach out for professional help.
