CM Sukhu On Cloudburst
The state’s chief minister has announced that 16 persons have perished in two events linked to severe rainfall in Himachal Pradesh in the past 24 hours. A cloudburst occurrence in the Solan region last night claimed the lives of seven individuals, while a landslide at a Shiv temple in the Summer Hill neighborhood of Shimla city claimed the lives of nine more, bringing the two-day total of fatalities to 21.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister, has urged residents to stay inside and away from rivers and drains. He also encouraged people to avoid landslide-prone places and recommended that tourists avoid the state while it is experiencing this catastrophe.
All schools and colleges in the hill state will remain closed out of concern for the health and well-being of students amid the heavy rains, the chief minister announced on Sunday. He has contacted all District Collectors in the state for suggestions regarding the harm and destruction.

Sunday’s moderate to heavy rainfall may continue across much of the state, with the remote regions of Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, Kullu, and Sirmaur seeing moderately to tremendously heavy rainfall. Additionally, it predicted unusually severe rainfall at remote spots in Beas, Ranjit Sagar, and the drainage area of the Pong dam.
Damage Done During Monsoon
Due to the floodwaters and landslides, Himachal Pradesh encounters the worst-affected state in the nation. According to the authorities, 257 lives were taken during the monsoon for various reasons.
Official statistics show that the state has experienced 55 sudden rainfall incidents and 90 landslides to date.
