Elon Musk And Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal Leaked Chats Disclose The Reason Behind Sacking

The deal to take Twitter Inc. private, announced by Elon Musk in April, was completed on October 27. He assumed control of the major social media site. For Twitter employees and shareholders, the announcement ended a period of uncertainty and waiting that lasted seven months. Musk fired some of Twitter’s top executives shortly after taking over. This comprised the Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal, and the head of legal, policy, and trust, Vijaya Gadde. In addition, he dismissed Sean Edgett, Twitter’s general counsel since 2012, and chief financial officer Ned Segal.

Leaked Conversations That Might Led To The Dismissal Of Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal

All was not well, according to a series of chats that were leaked between Musk, the former Agrawal, and co-founder Jack Dorsey. It also demonstrates the type of relationship that Musk and the recently fired Agrawal had from the start. This came after the former in April revealed his intentions to buy Twitter. When they bonded over a shared interest in engineering, the initial meeting between Musk and Agrawal quickly turned sour. Musk and Agrawal appeared to have made an effort to take into consideration each other’s ideas for “making Twitter a better place.” Over the following three weeks, things deteriorated, though. This resulted in Musk realizing that Agrawal’s techniques were too slow.

Musk added that Parag wished to make people happy but was unable to do so. Agrawal texted Musk after he tweeted in May inquiring if Twitter was dying. He wanted to give him a sense of how much internal distraction there was at Twitter and how it was interfering with their productivity. Making his displeasure known, Agrawal added that he’s free to tweet anything about Twitter, including “Is Twitter dying?” He must, however, inform Musk that, in the present situation, it is not improving Twitter. Musk also reacted to it by saying that it was pointless and that he would make a proposal to take Twitter private.

More About The Leaked Chats

Elon Musk commented that he doesn’t like “MBA types” in one of the conversations he had with Parag. He also added that he favors individuals with advanced coding abilities. Musk can try to speak to him like an engineer rather than as the CEO, Parag retorted.

Former Twitter CEO and founder Jack Dorsey attempted to describe to Musk how Parag works. According to Dorsey, Parag excels at completing tasks when given clear instructions. The talks also make it clear that Parag was finding it difficult to put up with Musk’s Twitter comments.

The conversations give some indication that they at least thought about teaming up for a period. However, it is clear that the discussions are dramatic and that everyone is trying to outsmart one another. Additionally, Elon Musk did offer quite significant severance compensation to the sacked employees.
