The movie Shershaah, the biopic of martyr Captain Vikram Batra is streaming on Prime Video. The audience is liking the film. Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra, and Kiara Advani. The love story of Captain Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema is too emotional. Captain Vikram Batra martyred while fighting in the 1999 Kargil War. He was posthumously awarded India’s highest military honor for wartime valor, the Param Vir Chakra. Captain Vikram Batra’s brother, Vishal Batra, also talked about his brother, Shershaah, and Sidharth Malhotra’s performance. Now Captain Vikram Batra’s parents, Giridhar Lal Batra and Kamal Kanta Batra have also talked about the movie Shershaah, about Dimple Cheema, and the performance of the starcast.
Talking to TOI, Captain Batra’s parents talked about the biopic and the performance of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Captain Vikram Batra’s father said,
“‘Shershaah’ is a very nice, well-made film. I think Sidharth and Kiara have done a very good job. Sidharth’s entry is very nice as well. Vishnuvardhan has directed it very well.”
“There were many names that came up but eventually Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were finalized. Like us, Sidharth is a Punjabi Khatri. We were happy with the choice of casting him. Kiara Advani is a good actress who is coming up well. We were fine with her casting too. They had kept us in the loop about their casting.”
Captain Vikram Batra’s parents told Dimple Cheema to move on with her life after Vikram was martyred. However, she refused to do it. Kiara Advani played the character of Dimple Cheema. In an interview, they said that they tried to convince her to get married and settle down, along with Dimple’s parents, but she wants to live with Vikram’s memories.
“After the Kargil war, we told her to get married as she has a life ahead. Her parents too told her the same. But she told us that she wouldn’t get married and live the rest of her life with Vikram’s memories.”
Dimple Cheema continues to call Captain Vikram Batra’s parents on their birthdays. Talking about it, his father told,
“She calls up about twice in a year on our respective birthdays…Vikram had told us about Dimple and their intention of getting married. I told him that I was with them in their decision. I knew from the start that Dimple is a very respectful girl who understands relationships.”
Shershaah is currently the highest rating IMDB Hindi movie. Shershaah is Sidharth Malhotra’s best performance to date.
