Probably, every one of us is aware of the name “Dara Singh”. The name is synonymous with power and courage. He was one of the finest wrestlers in India that promoted wrestling across the country in the first half of the twentieth century. According to the latest news, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has decided to put the Indian wrestling icon, Dara Singh, in the Hall of Fame.

Back In 2016, WWE introduced a new category named as “Legacy Wing” which is a part of the Hall Of Fame Ceremony which is held by WWE, annually. Since then, the Legacy Wing features some popular wrestlers just to immortalize their contribution to the wrestling world.

For this year’s Hall Of Fame, PWInsider announced the list of wrestlers that will be included in the “Legacy Wing”. The list encompasses the name of Indian icon Dara Singh, Former WWWF Champion Stan Stasiak, Lord Alfred Hayes, Cora Combs, El Santo, Jim Londos, Rufus J. Jones, Sputnik Monroe, Boris “The Great” Malenko.

Dara Singh was immensely popular in India. Besides that, he had fought many international wrestlers that brought a huge amount of international fame. Back in 1968, he fought and defeated WWE Hall Of Famer Lou Thesz. Later on, he was inducted into Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 1996.

Apart from wrestling world, Dara Singh has also contributed to the TV industry and Bollywood. He gained success as an actor. He is best known for playing the role of Hindu God, Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan.
