India has launched its own version of Caller ID and blocking utility Truecaller referred to as BharatCaller. The creators have mentioned the application will give a better experience to customers. It is even forward of Truecaller in some points, based on the report by HT’s sister publication, Live Hindustan, on Friday. The description given on the Playstore reads,
“Bharat Caller ID has more than 50 million user databases and over 1 billion numbers data from the global community. It is the only app you need to make your communication safe and smart.”
BharatCaller was developed by Prajwal Sinha, an alumnus of the reputed Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. Kunal Pasricha is a co-founder of BharatCaller. And also, both of them were winners of the National Startup Awards 2020.
Currently, the application is accessible on Playstore and App Store for free and has reached 100000+ installs till now.

According to the reports, the contacts and call logs of the customers are not saved in the BharatCaller server. There is no privacy problem for the customers. There is no phone numbers database of the customers available for employees of the organization to work on and to access any related information.
