Ranjodh Singh, popularly known as Khanda (Avtar Singh Khanda), was a political asylum seeker in the UK. He was a self-styled leader of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), a proscribed terrorist organization. He played a crucial role in energizing the Sikh young to support the separatist cause for the so-called Khalistan. His mother was linked to KLF terrorist Gurjant Singh Budhsingwala. Gurjant Singh had close ties to the Pakistani deep state. Khanda’s father was a KLF terrorist who was shot dead by security authorities in 1991.

Avtar Khanda’s Medical Condition

According to reports from the United Kingdom, Khanda’s followers want the medical report to show poisoning so that they may label him a martyr. His supporters plan to accuse Indian security agents of his death. On the other hand, Khanda had blood cancer and had been sent to the Sandwell and West Birmingham hospital around a fortnight earlier.

The National Investigating Agency has named Khanda as the main suspect for disrespecting the Indian flag at the London High Commission on March 19 during an intended protest, along with three other separatists. The Indian High Commission had warned the UK intelligence agency MI-5 about the expected violence on March 19, yet the UK Police stood out for taking no action against the demonstrators.

Sikh Separatist Activity In The UK

Khanda entered the UK through the tried-and-true “student visa” approach, much like other Khalistani sympathizers. He joined the separatist movement that was active in some of the most important gurudwaras in the country quickly. Khalistani followers run these gurudwaras and use them to raise money for terrorism. They collect funds on the pretext of human rights abuses against the Sikh community in India.

The core UK establishment has never expressed any interest in Sikh separatist activity, and Indian intelligence has previously warned about Khanda’s violent actions three times. Before UK Ofcom shut it down in April 2022 as a result of numerous complaints from the Indian community in Britain, Khanda, and Jagjeet Singh Jeeta used to spew hate speech against India and Indians on the pro-Khalistani KTV station situated in the UK.

In the past, practically all protests in front of the Indian High Commission in London have included Khanda and others who have gone by the names Paramjeet Singh Pamma, Joga Singh, Kuldip Singh Chaheru, and others.
