A story that sounds straight out of a horror movie, a real-life nightmare that is sending shivers down people’s spines. A well-known paranormal investigator has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room, and, even more disturbing, the famous demonic Annabelle doll he was researching has reportedly vanished from the scene.

The coroner who arrived at the scene said that the so-called haunted Annabelle doll was not in the room when paranormal investigator Dan Rivera was found dead in his hotel room in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, only hours after concluding a program featuring the doll, People reported.

On Sunday, July 13, Dan Rivera, 54, took part in a stop on the “Devils on the Run” tour at the historic Soldiers National Orphanage. Hotel workers found him unconscious later that night.

Francis Dutrow, the Adams County Coroner, told reporters that the doll “had not been in the hotel room at all” and “was not present when I arrived at the scene.”

Story Behind The Annabelle Doll

The Warrens claim that a 28-year-old student nurse from Hartford, Connecticut, named Donna gave them the doll in the 1970s and reported that it could move on its own, exhibiting a frightening and malevolent behavior.

A timeline from the New England Society for Psychic Research states that in 1968, a nursing student received a Raggedy Ann doll as a gift and brought it back to the apartment she shared with a roommate. The roommates later “noticed strange occurrences with the doll” before a medium informed them that it was “inhabited by the spirit of a young girl named Annabelle.”

The Warrens decided the doll was “demonically possessed” and took it out of the house. To contain the bad spirit, the couple “encased it in a glass box.”

Who Was Dan Rivera?

Dan Rivera became well-known as a paranormal investigator on the Travel Channel’s “Most Haunted Places” and produced a number of other shows, such as “28 Days Haunted” on Netflix.

In order to present the Raggedy Ann doll, Rivera traveled throughout the United States with representatives of the New England Society for Psychic Research, which was founded in 1952 by well-known paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The Annabelle doll was given to Donna, a nursing student in Connecticut, in 1970 and was thereafter connected to a string of alleged hauntings. According to paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, the doll followed people around the apartment, moved its arms on its own, and displayed other threatening and aggressive behaviors.

Annabelle was demonically possessed, according to the Warrens, whose experiences served as the basis for the horror movie series “The Conjuring.” Before the doll was put in their exhibit in Connecticut, they said it had attacked a police officer and caused a car accident involving a priest.

The doll, according to a psychic medium engaged in the case, was inhabited by the soul of Annabelle, a six-year-old child who had passed away.

Connection Of Annabelle Doll To Rivera’s Death

On social media, there has been a lot of discussion despite the lack of official proof connecting the doll to Dan Rivera’s passing. Although state police have confirmed that “nothing unusual or suspicious” was found during their investigation, conspiracy theorists have linked the so-called cursed object to Rivera’s unexpected death.

Despite The Tragedy, The Tour Will Go On

In remembrance of Dan Rivera, the New England Society for Psychic Research wants to carry on with its paranormal tour.

The tour will go on, according to NESPR, despite the shock surrounding Rivera’s death. The organization said in a public statement that Rivera would have wanted the goal to continue, highlighting his commitment to information sharing and upholding Ed and Lorraine Warren’s legacy.

The group highlighted their intention to remember Rivera’s contributions to the field by declaring, “We will carry his spirit in everything we do,” according to the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR).
