Jeff Bezos will step down as the CEO of Amazon in the third quarter of this year. He is the world’s second-richest man currently. Andy Jassy will replace Jeff Bezos as the new CEO. In a letter to his employees, Jeff Bezos wrote that he would transition to executive Chairman of the Amazon Board,

“I intend to focus my energies and attention on new products and early initiatives. Andy is well known inside the company and has been at Amazon almost as long as I have.”

1. Studied At Harvard

Andy Jassy is the current CEO of Amazon Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services. He studied MBA at Harvard Business School. He was a project manager at MBI before joining Amazon.

 

2. 24 Years At Amazon

Andy Jassy joined Amazon in 1997. He worked as the marketing manager in the period of joining. He is one of the long-time executives in Amazon. Andy Jassy is also known for founding Amazon Music and Amazon Web Services. In April 2016, Andy was promoted from Senior Vice President to CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

 

3. Close To Jeff Bezos

The 53 old Jassy married Elana Rochelle Caplan. They have two children. In October 2020, it was reported that Andy Jassy had bought a $6.7 million 5,500-square-foot house in Santa Monica, California. He is a big fan of music and also managed a band in Boston before joining Amazon.
