Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Extended: Everything You Need To Know

In the recent update, the Unique Identification Of India (UIDAI) extended the free-of-cost Aadhaar update until 14 March 2024. The extension will allow Indian citizens to change their photo, number, address, and other personal details free of cost till 14 March 2024. For a long time, the UIDAI has been advising citizens to update their Aadhaar Card details if they haven’t done so already.

On their office website, the UIDAI government stated, “Based on positive comments from Indian residents, they have decided to extend the Aadhaar card update date for 3 more months, from 15 December 2023 to 14 March 2024.

During this period, the facilities to update your Aadhaar card will be free of cost through the myAadhaar portal.”

The service is free of cost if one updates it through the myAadhaar portal, and the fee of 50 Rs will be deducted if the person updates it through physical Aadhaar centers.

Extending their statement, they requested all their fellow citizens to “Please update your Aadhaar card to ensure the accuracy of your demographic information.”

 

Citizens Can Update Their Aadhaar Card Online

According to the data and information, it’s said that citizens can now update their Aadhaar Card Online through the myAadhaar portal including their name, email ID, Photo, DOB, gender, phone number, and other personal information without going anywhere.

Other information like biometrics can still be updated only through physical Aadhaar centers.

 

Update Your Aadhaar Card Through myAadhaar Portal Guide.

  • All you need to do is go to the official website of myAadhaar portal.
  • After that, just click on log in with your Aadhaar number and Enrollment ID and just click on.
  • After this, you can change your Name, Gender, DOB, and other personal information and finish the step by clicking on the ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ button.
  • After this, you must select ‘Address,’ ‘Name,’ or ‘Gender.’ From the options. After this, click on “Proceed to Update Aadhaar.”
  • In the next step, you must upload one scanned copy of your updated address proof if your address is updated or changed.

There is no processing fee till 14 March 2024, but after 14 March, the citizen has to pay INR 25 to update their Aadhaar Card. Lastly, a new website will open where you will get a ‘Service Request Number(SRN),’ which you need to save for future reference.
