The story of Khandwa’s Vinod and Aarti Sharma is full of emotions. Their story began with a two-hour train journey. In the Ladies bogie, the young man started the conversation with a young woman called Aarti. The 10-minute interaction was over, the lead continued. The thing reached marriage. Then came Khandwa station. The youth stood on the train’s gate and said, if you are ready for marriage then get down. The young woman said, pick up my bag, then I will not fall down. The journey of these two characters, which started with just 10 minutes of talk on the moving train, has now been completed for 13 years.

“I have seen my face … who will marry a man like me?” – Vinod Sharma said that day as he went to Bhusawal on July 25, 2005. That evening he was returning from the Sachkhand Express.

Aarti told that she is a resident of Sakota village of Jokod. Vinod proposed her for the marriage as he was about to get down. In response, Aarti said, only if he holds her bag and helps her get down, she will marry. It was love at first sight.

How It Proceeded

After 10 minutes came Khandwa station. I got off . Aarti came to the window and said, ‘If you do not pick up my bag then how will you descend?’ Upon hearing this I picked up the bag of Aarti and came home. In spite of not being a Muhurta the next day, he got married in Shiv Mandir at Kundaleeshwar temple. Aarti Sharma said it was nice to meet Vinod, understand my feelings, offer a marriage proposal. Both of them live in the old grain market area with two children.

Isn’t this story so unreal? This couple were made for each other! Thus, they met on a train. Love finds it’s way no matter whatever the situation is! Read more about proposals on 7 More Ways To Propose.
