Team India for the T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA has been announced. The squad has some notable names, while some of the names are missing. BCCI has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and five players are in reserves.
Rohit Sharma Is A Captain, With Hardik Pandya As His Deputy
Jay Shah has announced before the IPL, that Rohit Sharma will lead Team India in T20 World Cup 2024. There are no surprises at the last minute. Rohit Sharma is the captain of Team India, with Hardik Pandya appointed as his deputy. Hardik Pandya was out of every form of cricket while suffering an injury during the 50-over World Cup in India last year. He is fit and returned to IPL as a captain of Mumbai Indians. However, his decision-making, form, and not bowling four-overs regularly is a cause of concern for Team India.
Sanju Samson And Rishabh Pant As Wicket-Keepers Before KL Rahul
The spot for wicket-keeper batter was the biggest point of discussion. KL Rahul, Jitesh Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel are in contention for that spot. However, with openers and top-order already packed with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, there was a three-way competition between KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson with the latter two getting the nod. Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant are in incredible form in this IPL. Both of them are in the top 5 run-getters in this IPL 2024.
Rishabh Pant is returning from a nearly fatal accident after one and a half years. But his form and batting are getting improved every day. Sanju Samson is leading the Rajasthan Royals. He is the top run-getter for them and his captaincy is also outstanding. Rajasthan Royals has lost just one match out of 9 they have played and already have an invisible ‘Q’ written in front of them for the playoffs. He got rewarded for this and everyone is happy seeing his name in the squad.
Yuzvendra Chahal Is In The Squad
Yuzvendra Chahal is also rewarded for all the hard work he has done in the past and this IPL. He is also in the 15-member squad. It means the current ranking number six Ravi Bishnoi is left out. Ravi Bishnoi is not in the squad and neither in the reserves.

Rinku Singh In Reserves Left Cricket Fans Disappointed
One name that disappointed cricket fans most is Rinku Singh. He is currently the best finisher in Team India with an average of 89 and a strike rate of 176. In the last T20I innings, Rinku Singh has made 69 not out in just 39 balls. All the teams can make changes in their squad till May 25. So there are chances of shuffling in the squad.
