It has been in service since 2008 and is situated approximately 35 kilometers from Bardhaman city. Only the Bankura Masagram passenger train stops here, but other freight and passenger trains pass by every day. Other express trains don’t stop as they pass. Although there is a ticket counter at the station, the board is blank, and the name “Rainagar” is printed on the tickets.

At first, the railway thought about calling the station ‘Rainagar,’ but the people of two neighboring villages didn’t agree. They both wanted their village to be the name of the station.

The court ordered the railway to take the name off the board until a ruling was made, since the argument had become so out of hand. Ever since, it has been referred to as the “Anonymous Station.” It is easily identified by its blank yellow signboard.
