Quitting a stable corporate job can be a risky move, especially when it comes with a fixed monthly salary. But one woman claims she managed to replace her Rs 50,000 salary after leaving Zomato by building four different income streams.

Varsha shared her experience in an Instagram video titled, “Replaced Zomato’s Rs 50k monthly salary with 4 income streams.” She said she left what she called her “perfect” job five months ago and started focusing on different ways to earn. According to her, those four income streams generated Rs 2,28,892 in revenue in September. She also made it clear that September was actually a weaker month for her compared with July and August.

Tech UGC Became Her Biggest Income Stream

The biggest contributor was tech user-generated content, or UGC. This involves creating content for technology brands and businesses, allowing creators to earn without necessarily relying only on their own social media audience. She said,

“Number one is Tech UGC. This one made me Rs 1,00,900, which is actually way less than what it made me in July and August.”

Tech UGC alone accounted for more than Rs 1 lakh of her September revenue, making it her biggest source of earnings for the month. Her second-largest source was brand partnerships published on her own social media page. She said these collaborations brought in Rs 86,000.

“The second one is brand partnerships that go on my page, which made me exactly Rs 86,000, out of which Rs 66,000 is yet to hit the bank.”

That distinction is important because the amount earned through deals and the amount actually received in the bank can be different. In Varsha’s case, a significant portion of the brand partnership money was still pending.

She Also Earned By Teaching Others

Varsha’s third income stream came from one-on-one sessions. She teaches people how to build their own income through tech UGC. Through these sessions, she said she earned approximately Rs 36,242 in September.

This gave her another way to monetise her experience. Instead of earning only by creating content for brands, she was also earning from people who wanted to learn the same skill. Her fourth income stream was remote sales. It was still relatively small compared with her other sources, but she said it brought in around Rs 5,744 during September.

“My fourth stream of income is remote sales, which does not make me as much money yet, and this month it only made me around Rs 5,744 rupees.”

September Was A “Down Month”

Adding everything together, Varsha said her September revenue came to Rs 2,28,892.

“Total revenue for September comes up to Rs 2,28,892 to be exact. This is honestly way less than what I made in July and August, but yeah, I think this is a down month, and I’d like to pick it up again. I’ll see you again in October.”

Her comments also highlight the biggest difference between a fixed corporate salary and multiple income streams. A salary provides predictability, while creator income can change significantly from one month to another depending on brand deals, clients and other opportunities.

Varsha’s figures are based on her own account and should not be seen as a guaranteed earning model. However, her story shows how some professionals are experimenting with multiple income sources instead of depending entirely on one employer.

She left a Rs 50,000 monthly job at Zomato and, according to her, generated more than Rs 2.28 lakh in September through tech UGC, brand partnerships, one-on-one sessions and remote sales. And if her own account is anything to go by, she believes there is still room to grow.
